Wish someone told me this before I wasted money on batteries

I'm the kind of person who learns things the hard way, apparently. Over the last four years I've replaced the battery in my Accord three times, and each time I just went with whatever was cheapest or whatever the garage had in stock. Never occurred to me that maybe I was the problem, not the car. Finally had a mechanic friend look at it last week and he just shook his head when I told him how often I'd been buying them. He explained that the cheap ones aren't built for this climate and that I've basically been throwing money away by not thinking ahead. That conversation pushed me to actually do some research instead of just guessing, and I found some practical advice before buying a new battery that covered all the stuff I never considered, like cold cranking amps, reserve capacity, and how heat affects lifespan. Wish I'd seen this years ago honestly would have saved me a lot of hassle and a decent amount of cash. Ended up going with a mid-range option that should actually last this time, fingers crossed. If you're due for a replacement soon, take five minutes to read up on it, it makes a difference.
