What’s the First Thing You Search Before Doing Business With a Company?

I was talking with a few colleagues about how buying decisions have changed over the years, and it got me thinking about the research process people use today.

Before hiring a company, purchasing a service, or entering a business relationship, most people do some level of online research. The question is: what do they look at first?

  • Company website?
  • Google reviews?
  • Search results?
  • Social media profiles?
  • News articles?
  • AI-generated summaries?
I'm curious how everyone approaches this.

What is the very first thing you check when evaluating a company, and why? Have you ever decided not to work with a business based on what you found during your research?

Looking forward to hearing different perspectives from business owners, marketers, and consumers alike.
