I recently inherited my grandfather’s old mechanical watch, and I can’t stop staring at its intricate gears moving. I love how it feels alive compared to digital watches. But I’m curious, what really makes mechanical watches so special? Are they just about craftsmanship, or is there something more in their “soul” that draws people in? I’ve never owned one myself until now, and I want to understand why enthusiasts value them so much.
