After moving my company emails to Microsoft 365, I needed a way to import PST to Office 365 because years of Outlook data were still stored in local PST files. At first, I thought the migration would be quick, but manual methods turned out to be more complicated than expected.
The Outlook import feature is suitable if you only have one or two PST files. You can add your Office 365 account in Outlook and import the data directly. But when I tried importing large PST files, Outlook became slow and occasionally froze during the process.
I also tested the Microsoft Network Upload method using AzCopy and the Compliance Center. While it works for enterprise-level migration, it requires admin roles, CSV mapping, and several technical configurations. PowerShell commands were another option, but they are not beginner-friendly at all.
To save time, I switched to the DRS Softech PST to Office 365 Migration Tool. The software handled multiple PST files smoothly and imported all mailbox items, including emails, calendars, contacts, and attachments, without any data loss. I liked the preview feature because it helped verify mailbox content before migration. It also supported older PST files from Outlook 2010 and newer versions without compatibility issues.
