A lot of legacy organizations are still sitting on Pegasus Mail archives and are now pushing toward cloud productivity. The issue is that Pegasus uses local file-based storage, while Microsoft 365 expects IMAP/Exchange-style mailboxes. If anyone wants to migrate Pegasus Mail to Office 365, the gap becomes obvious when trying manual conversion. Extracting EML and re-uploading via Outlook isn’t scalable, especially for years of stored mail. I tested the SysInfo IMAP Backup Software, and the biggest benefit for my team was its Batch Mode Migration, which allows transferring multiple Pegasus accounts simultaneously. This really matters for businesses with 10+ users because manual conversions would take weeks. The tool also supports authentication with Office 365 securely and without altering content. In terms of folder hierarchy, formatting, and attachment visuals, the results were accurate and didn’t break anything on the Microsoft 365 side. For modernizing email setups, an automated IMAP pipeline is way more sensible.
