Looking for the Safest Way to Transfer Office 365 Emails to Gmail?

I recently helped a client migrate their email system from Microsoft 365 to Gmail because they wanted better integration with Google Workspace. We initially explored Microsoft's and Google's native options, but they required several configuration steps and were difficult for non-technical users to understand. Since the mailbox contained years of project emails and client communication, we couldn't risk losing data. Our goal was to Migrate Office 365 to Gmail while preserving every folder, attachment, and email property exactly as it existed before the migration.

Instead of relying entirely on manual synchronization, we evaluated the DRS Softech Office 365 Backup Tool. The biggest advantage was that it automated most of the migration process while providing options like selective folder migration, date filters, duplicate removal, and complete mailbox previews. The migration completed successfully, and the Gmail mailbox looked almost identical to the original Microsoft 365 account, which made the transition much easier for the client.

For anyone planning an Office 365 to Gmail migration, my suggestion is to create a small test migration before transferring your primary mailbox. Verify folder structure, attachments, and message counts first. Spending a little extra time planning the migration can save many hours of troubleshooting and ensure that no important business communication is left behind.
