Once I had witnessed Holi during one of my visits to India (Mumbai). It was amazing and by the gods, it was colorful and cheering, I felt like I was with my family when girls and boys (complete strangers to me) threw colors and colored water on me with a friendly smile. India is such a good nation of culture and I always love visiting India again and again....
On the eve of Holi, typically at or after sunset, the pyre is lit, signifying Holika Dahan. The ritual symbolises the victory of good over evil. People gather around the fire to sing and dance. Holi frolic and celebrations begin the morning after the Holika bonfire.
