I’ve been getting repeated calls from Eckberg Lammers, P.C. over the last couple weeks, and I’m not sure what to do. They left a voicemail saying it was regarding a debt, but didn’t give any details. I looked them up and saw they’re a law firm based out of Stillwater, MN that handles debt collection among other things.
I’m nervous because I’ve heard they might actually sue people. I haven’t agreed to anything over the phone yet, but I don’t want to ignore it and end up with a default judgment or wage garnishment.
Has anyone dealt with them before? Should I ask for debt validation in writing? I found this article online that says I have rights under the FDCPA, but I’d love to hear real experiences – good or bad.
Thanks in advance.
