Google has started Video chat service sometimes before that also has group chat option where upto 10 persons can chat in a group.
Google Hangout can be accessed through Smartphones having Android Gingerbread or later versions.
 
Seems like they are copying the idea of Skype or ooVoo, but more will never hurt. I will most likely stick with Skype, but Google Hangout would be a great alternative if it every fails on me.
