Exploring alternatives to mainstream internal comm tools

Hey folks,
I’ve been doing a bit of digging into business communication tools — mainly for internal use in small-to-mid-sized teams. Obviously, Slack and Teams dominate, but I came across this blog that lists a bunch of options:

Business communication software

Some of these I’ve never tried (like Brosix, Mirrorfly or Chanty), and a few seem more geared toward enterprise setups. Just figured I’d share in case others are comparing tools too.

If you’ve used anything outside the usual suspects, would love to hear what worked or didn’t. Especially interested in tools that don’t get in the way or overload with notifications.

Interesting mix of tools there! I’ve mostly stuck with Slack and Teams too, but I did try Chanty a while back — it’s actually pretty clean and less noisy. Haven’t used Mirrorfly or Brosix yet though.

Totally agree about the notification overload issue. I’d love to know if anyone’s found something lightweight that still handles threads and file sharing decently.
