I often wonder how much a confusing app download page influences my decision to actually use the app. Like, if I land on a page that's cluttered, poorly designed, or has unclear instructions, I automatically assume the app itself is going to be buggy or difficult to use. Maybe it seems silly, but a smooth download process just makes me feel more confident in the app's quality. Has anyone else experienced this? Or am I just too picky?

Not at all - that's a very rational assessment! The download page is usually the first impression, and a bad one definitely sours things. I recently read an article called Why App Download Pages Matter More Than Most Users Realize, and it really resonated with me, due to this. https://parivahansewass.co/why-app-download-pages-matter-more-than-most-users-realize/ A clumsy download flow creates doubt early on and can really impact my trust in the app. Ultimately, that first setup experience tells you what kind of product you’re dealing with!

Also worth considering is how different demographics respond to complex or unclear download pages. Younger, more tech-savvy users might be more willing to troubleshoot, while older adults or those less comfortable with technology might simply give up. This could create a barrier to entry for certain user groups.
