Best Way to Import OLM file to Outlook

If you're switching from Mac Outlook to Windows Outlook, the OLM file situation will catch you off guard if you're not prepared. Windows Outlook doesn't read OLM files natively. At all. I found that out the hard way after assuming the import wizard would just handle it like any other format.

The manual workaround exists but it's tedious. You're basically exporting individual folders, converting formats in between, and hoping nothing breaks along the way. For a small mailbox it's annoying. For anything large it's a real problem.

The cleaner option is using a dedicated converter. I used the MacSonik OLM Converter and it did exactly what I needed — loaded the OLM file, converted it to PST, and the output opened in Outlook without issues. Folder structure stayed intact, attachments came through fine. The free trial lets you test on your actual file before committing, which I appreciated.

If you want the full picture of what the process looks like step by step, this is a solid read: Import OLM to Outlook. It covers both the manual method and the tool approach, so you can decide which fits your situation.

Short answer: if you have more than a handful of emails, skip the manual route. A proper converter saves a lot of frustration.
