Hey folks,
I’m working on a Nexus 5548UP deployment and looking at the N55-LAN1K9 license, which from what I understand is the LAN Enterprise Services package for the 5500 series. We’re planning to enable a few features that aren’t included in the base LAN package, so this license seems necessary but I know Nexus licensing can get weird depending on the software revision and existing feature sets.
Before I go ahead, I wanted to check with anyone who has actually deployed N55-LAN1K9 in production:
We’re planning on running a mix of L2/L3 features plus some VRFs on this box, so I want to make sure the license actually delivers what’s advertised. If anyone has hands-on experience with N55-LAN1K9 — smooth deployment or headaches I’d appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

- Did the license installation go smoothly (install license file, reload needed, any compatibility checks)?
- After enabling it, did all the expected features show up like enhanced Layer 3, OSPF, BGP, VRF-Lite, etc. without any hidden restrictions?
- Any software version requirements for the N55-LAN1K9 license to activate fully?
- And once active, did the switch stay stable under routing load, or did you run into CPU spikes or odd control-plane behavior?
