Genesis is hard at work getting the GV90 EV ready for its debut next year.
The 2027 Genesis GV90 is continuing its steady march toward production, as mostly complete-looking spy shots of the SUV have popped up from the Nürburgring. The Genesis flagship, which looks like it's the size of a Mercedes-Maybach GLS or a BMW X7, was spotted coursing through the legendary racetrack with production-ready bodywork underneath the swirling camo wrap, although the OMP racing seats suggest this is merely a dynamic development mule. Unlike its G90 sedan counterpart, the forthcoming 2027 GV90 will be an EV, which helps explain why the test driver was pushing the luxury SUV hard, gotta make sure the electric powertrain is up to scratch.

The Slippery Shape Of The Future
The GV90 seen here almost certainly portends the shape of the production SUV, sharing many of the Neolun concept's design cues. For example, the round, egg-like profile of the rear hatch and the nearly vertical B- and C-pillars will make it to production, and some front-end contours poking through the vinyl wrap suggest the GV90 will make use of a shield-motif front light signature, also seen on the Genesis X Speedium concept. In a departure from the Neolun, the production SUV does away with a strong shoulder line in the sheetmetal, favoring a more slab-sided appearance with gently flared front and rear wheel arches.
Plainly visible on the front end is an air inlet with the company's signature "G-matrix" mesh pattern, and it also looks like the big SUV will opt to place its headlamps within the hash-mark lighting elements, rather than in a lower position on the nose, bucking a controversial design trend that's shown up on everything from its Hyundai Kona corporate cousin to the facelifted BMW X7. The front and rear bumpers look tucked in quite tight to the side profile, and the side windows are flush-mounted for both a seamless appearance and better aerodynamics.
