Hello everyone! I have synthesis essay due soon. The teacher gave me several sources, but how do I properly collect the information and make a coherent essay out of it? I don't just need to retell it, I need to somehow tie it all together, show my position. Can someone explain in simple terms how to build such an essay? It is especially unclear how to write an introduction and conclusion, and what should be in the main part.

Here is a good explanation on the website https://www.ozessay.com.au/blog/synthesis-essay/ , they talk in detail about the structure and what's what. In the introduction, you need to identify the topic and formulate a thesis - your main idea that you will work with. The main part is several paragraphs where you develop your arguments and support them with facts from the sources. At the end is the conclusion, where you briefly summarize and leave the reader with some kind of conclusion or question. The main thing is not just to list, but to connect the information, show your position and argue it. If you make a plan correctly and follow the structure, it will be much easier!

The main thing is to thoroughly analyze all the sources, understand which ideas they have in common and which are opposite. Make a plan, where each paragraph will be responsible for one thought or argument. It is better to write the thesis at the very end of the introduction - this way it will logically complete the introductory part and set the direction for the entire essay.
