The latest Aston Martin Vantage is quite possibly the company's best sports car of all time, featuring way more power and a much more responsive chassis than its predecessor. In fact, today's 4.0-liter V8–powered Vantage makes a hearty 656 horsepower and 590 pound-feet, making it even torquier and only a little less powerful than the previous-generation V12 Vantage, which had 690 horses and 555 lb-ft. But while we thought 2023 would be the final model year for a bent-twelve engine in the entry-level Aston, the company has admitted that more aggressive, higher-powered versions of the updated Vantage were on the horizon. Oh, and the V12 still fits in the engine bay just fine.
Foremost, it must be said that the significantly updated 2025 Aston Martin Vantage coupe and 2026 Vantage roadster are already brilliant pieces of machinery. Despite their "base-model" status in the A-M lineup, the company's two-seaters are wonderful to drive quickly, with sharper steering and a more responsive engine than before. But that doesn't mean there isn't more on the table. We sat down with Aston Martin Director of Vehicle Attributes & Performance Simon Newton to discuss the future of a hard-core Vantage variant.
